Name ;; Eagleflight
Gender ;; Tom
Age ;; 25 moons
Allegiance ;; MeadowClan
Rank ;; Warrior (possible deputy?)
Appearance ;;
Eagleflight is best described as lanky and long. He has a long, fluid body with a long tail, and he moves very gracefully and swiftly. He has sleek muscle integrated into his long body. He is fairly tall, but not very wide - he makes up for strength with speed and maneuverability. When Eagleflight moves, he moves in a fluid, nearly silent motion, like a stream. He has bright blue eyes and a short, sleek pale brown pelt with darker brown/black stripes across his body. He has a white chest, belly and forepaws. He also has a white mark shaped like a soaring bird on his head, which is where the name of "Eagle" came in when he was named. He has a white tip on his tail, which can be seen twitching almost constantly when he is thinking. In fact, his tail is very flexible and expressive, and swishes back and forth a lot when he is in safe territory, usually in camp. It's the most expressive part of his body besides his eyes - it can be amusing to watch from a safe distance, and the kits seem to think it's an excellent tool to practice pouncing. Fortunately for the kits, Eagleflight is a very tolerant tom-cat.
Personality ;;
Eagleflight is a quiet, friendly cat. He rarely speaks unless he has something important to say, or he has thought his words through. He won't be caught needlessly chattering with the elders about the old days, though sometimes he will out of politeness. He's a very polite and courteous tom, and sometimes hesitates to take charge because of this. He is very willing to hear the opinions of others - so willing that sometimes he'll forget to put his own opinion out there. But Eagleflight will put a lot of thought into what he says and does, and what goes on around him, so he does have an opinion of things. He may just have to be prompted so that they will make it into the open.
Eagleflight is very friendly, especially to kits and apprentices, being a gentle guide to them if necessary. He loves the idea of being a mentor, and can't wait for his first apprentice. He will teach them all he knows, and his true enthusiasm will show through. His apprentices probably get to know the true him better than most of the cats of his Clan, as a matter of fact. This is because he keeps quiet to both listen and understand, most of the time. He also is reserved around other cats, especially those of different Clans. But even his own Clan mates won't be able to get much talk out of him. He's kindly, and will offer a friendly word or two in greeting when he's greeted, but he doesn't like talking to others that much. His eyes and expressions do most of his talking. He's also secretly afraid that his secrets and innermost thoughts will come out if he keeps talking, and when it comes to his family, he would rather keep that between himself, Breezestep and Addertail, if he could talk to him.
Eagleflight is quietly passionate and determined. When he feels one way about something, he feels very strongly in that direction. He rarely lets go of grudges, and is wary of the other Clans for the threats and squabbles they may have had in the past. When he falls in love, he also falls incredibly hard. It would be hard to make him change his mind, although he will respect the she-cat if she does not feel the same way for him. He will just love her from a distance until he gets over it. He also has a strangely naive sense of right and wrong. He's aware of the gray area in between, but in his mind, something is either right or wrong, some cat is good or bad - there's no way out of it. It's ironic, really, since he loves his brother Addertail but also fears his ferocious ambition. He doesn't know what to think about his brother, and so usually avoids talking about it except with Breezestep.
Eagleflight is also secretly ambitious. He would rarely make it known, but he would love to ascend in power to be leader of MeadowClan. Not for any power-hungry reasons, but he does enjoy being able to give orders and have them followed. He also feels that he could give his Clan strength, and cares for his Clan deeply. He has always admired Skystar and her ability to lead, and hopes to one day lead his Clan like that, with their faith in him to lead them the right way, and he would have faith in them as his Clan mates.
History ;;
Eagleflight's history is not typical of most Clan cats. His mother, Brightrain, ran away from her Clan for unknown reasons. When her kits asked why they lived where they did, she would begin with her story. It was short, but they asked many times, and knew it well. It was a dark, thundering night - not quite raining, but lightning crisscrossed the sky and thunder rolled across the blackened storm clouds above her. The leaves were thick on the trees, she remembered that - it was greenleaf when she left. She was heavy with her kits - they were coming any day now, but she had to leave. She would never say why, and no one knew why. She wouldn't even tell her kits the name of their father however many times they asked, although she did say that he still lives within their Clan. She lived as a rouge on the edge of the Clans' territories, close to Fallen Pines, but not too close. She wanted to be close to StarClan, who she felt at the time would be the only ones to accept her.
Within two days of settling in a cave in the forest around Fallen Pines, Brightrain gave birth to three kits: Breeze, Adder, and Eagle. She gave them their names, almost warrior names, as if she knew that they would return to their Clan, MeadowClan. They lived in their cave for five moons, and the kits grew strong and restless. Adder especially was ready to leave, to find a land beyond this one. But Brightrain, fearing whatever she feared for them, forbade them from leaving. "Someday I'll explain, I promise." She would tell them in a hushed, heavy voice full of memories.
Eagle never questioned his mother. She didn't want to talk about her past, and he wanted his mother and family to be happy, so he tried to be brave and learn as quickly as he could, to make things easier. But one day, Brightrain told them they were leaving. "We're going to our Clan. We're going home." She told them. Eagle was amazed; his mother had told them all about the Clans, especially MeadowClan, where she had once lived, but it hadn't sounded like they were ever going to return there. Now they were going. "I know that you were all born to be warriors. Your father is a warrior, and so am I - we're going home." was the only explanation that Brightrain offered before they set out, heading to a home they had never known.
On the way home, however, disaster struck. Adder was always the most restless, the most wayward of the three kits. He was always trying to prove that he was a strong, brave kit - which he was, but he didn't realize where the fine line that separated bravery from stupidity was. He was exploring, as kits were wont to do, and he stumbled upon a badger's nest. There was one badger cub at the entrance to the den, and unbeknownst to Adder, the mother badger nearby. He lashed out at the cub with tiny claws, feeling that he would show his mother that he would be a brave warrior when they arrived at MeadowClan's camp. He would bring back the baby badger - or so he thought. With a booming roar, the female badger charged out, ready to kill Adder for attacking her cub. Brightrain still retained her warrior skills, which, combined with her protective mother instinct, were powerful considering that she had been out of action for five moons. The battle was fierce, but short. The badger ran, but Brightrain fell on the edge StormClan and MeadowClan territory, right were they intersected. She told her kits to go to MeadowClan and tell them that Brightrain was their mother. They would be welcomed, at least for the fact that they would be valued warriors in their Clan. "Perhaps by now they have forgiven me..."
The journey was short, but felt like it took a million years. Adder became darker and retreated into his shell even further. It didn't take much to set him off now, and his aggression became more pronounced as they drew close to camp. Eagle was nervous for him - he was too volatile, no where near the adventurous but caring brother that he had been. He didn't want him to do anything rash, but he was realizing that while they had been close, his brother wanted less to do with him. Breeze became closer to Eagle, afraid of her brother's sudden change of temperament. She tried to speak with him once about his change, and he gave her a scar across her forehead. He apologized for it, and said he didn't mean it, but ever since that day, Breeze and Eagle became closer, but separated from Adder, unable to be a threesome for long periods without fighting.
Soon they arrived at their camp, and were taken in with open paws by Skystar and the other cats of MeadowClan. They were trained and as Brightrain predicted, they all grew to be great warriors, although Addertail, as he was named, was still aggressive, always ready to attack when another Clan - namely LustClan - threatened MeadowClan. Even to this day, Eagleflight fears what his brother might rush into - whether to his death, or to lead the rest of his Clan mates after him into a useless battle. His ambition, fiercity and cold-hearted nature means that he is one of Eagleflight and Breezestep's main worries. Eagleflight believes he is loyal to his Clan until he joins StarClan, however. He hopes that somewhere in Addertail, his brother still lives.
Today Eagleflight is a warrior of MeadowClan, and hopes to someday find he and his sibling's father within the Clan. Who is he, and where is he?
